Form W-7, Application for IRS Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, is used by a nonresident alien individual to apply for an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN). Nonresident alien individuals who need a Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), but do not qualify to receive a Social Security Number (SSN) or Employer Identification Number (EIN), must obtain an ITIN. Form W-7 must be filed with the IRS, not with Franklin Templeton.
