What is Flint River Ranchs product shelf-life?
Flint River Ranch production runs weekly, and product is delivered to distribution warehouses within 3 days to a few weeks of manufacture. FRR’s overall inventory turns three (3) times every month, which means that it has was manufactured 7 to 8 days prior to shipping from the West coast and 16 days being shipped from the East coast. It is almost too fresh to feed. Flint River Ranch formulas feed much better when they are at least 30 days old and have had a chance to age and oxidize slightly. When properly stored, FRR products can be fed for about 11 months; however, the ideal period is 5 to 6 months. After six months, the product value declines because the extended exposure to air tends to over-oxidize the formulas and make them stale. There is a BEST IF USED BY date on all products, which fall into the 5 to 6 month from cook date.
