What is flexible assessment, and who is eligible?
Flexible assessment is a special admissions evaluation for applicants who have significant work or volunteer experience in the environmental sciences field, but who do not meet the basic academic pre-requisites for the BSc Environmental Science program. It is recognition that some potential learners have significant field experience that would allow them to be successful in the BSc ES program, even though they may lack one or more of the courses or qualifications for the program. Flexible assessment is only available for applicants with significant, relevant work experience, and is not a way to “get around” the basic academic prerequisites required for all BSc ES learners. Learners who have questions about their eligibility for the BSc ES program or wish to discuss flexible assessment options should contact the program office for more information. Please call 1-800-788-8028 and ask for the BSc Environmental Science program office.
