What is Flagship, and what are its goals?
The San Francisco State University Chinese Flagship Partner Program is an exciting initiative for motivated undergraduate students seeking careers related to China and the Chinese-speaking world. This honors program is designed to produce graduates with dual strengths in professional level Mandarin language proficiency and their chosen career domains. The SFSU Flagship is funded by a federal grant from the National Security Education Program (NSEP), and is part of a network of innovative Flagship programs teaching languages critical to U.S. national security and economic competitiveness. The Flagship community is made up of 24 programs at U.S institutions of higher education, 11 overseas programs, and three K-12 programs. All share a common purpose: to train the next generation of global professionals.
