What is Fishbowl Friday and what are checks?
In an attempt to maintain order and an atmosphere condusive to learning, the behavior management system in third grade consists of the teacher recording instances of student misbehavior and poor judgment in a log, as well as praising students who demonstrate good citizenship. Three instances(checks)in one week will eliminate a child from participating in the weekly reward time called “Fishbowl Friday”. An activity is pulled out the bowl indicating what activity the children will be allowed to do. Each week starts a new week with a ‘clean slate’ so to speak.
