What is First Night?
First Night is a family-friendly, alcohol-free arts festival held on New Year’s Eve. Sioux Falls is one of 130 cities around the world that celebrate First Night and is part of First Night International, a global licensing organization. First Night began in Boston, Massachusetts in 1976 as part of their bicentennial celebration. First Night features a variety of music, dance, theatre, and art along with activities for both kids and adults. First Night will also feature an early kid’s fireworks display at 9:20pm at 5th & Phillips. The program guide will be available at Main Street Sioux Falls, the Horse Barn Arts Center, the Orpheum Theater Center and the Sioux Falls Arena prior to the event.
