What is Firedog Wireless?
Firedog is wireless broadband in the Galax area – in town, and in areas around town that can receive service through wireless technology. We offer the full range of services, including but not limited to web hosting, email hosting and internet service. What is a firedog? Well, every fire department has one. Since the proceeds from this internet business are being donated to the Galax Volunteer Fire Department, it only seemed fitting that firedog wireless be the name we used for the business. Firedogwireless was initially formed back in March of 2004 as a part of a larger project that involved several area companies coming together to try to find ways to continue an already-existing wireless business while generating funds for our volunteer firemen and creating an infrastructure for homeland security/law enforcement purposes.
