Findhorn is a small village in Northern Scotland (about 45 min drive East of Inverness, where Loch Ness is located). In the 1960’s, a family (Eileen and Peter Caddy, and their children) and their friend (Canadian Dorothy MacLean) moved to a remote caravan park near the tiny fishing village of Findhorn. Findhorn is located right along the ocean, and this caravan park situated right in the sand dunes amongst the gorse and beside the Royal Air Force (RAF) army base. Eileen, Peter, Dorothy and family all lived in this tiny caravan (or trailer). They left a job at a hotel they ran and so tried to make a living in this caravan park. With little money, it was a necessity to grow their own food, even if it was in the sandy Findhorn dunes. Being intuitive in their own ways, they started to garden by connecting with Nature.
