I guess fortune and glory to most Filipinos is winning the jackpot solo in the Megalotto when the pot is over P100 million. That is fortune. Winning is such a stroke of luck, and a Filipino will most likely share some of it with neighbors, friends, charity, and the church. That is glory. The suddenly rich winner is probably going to be called Don or a Dona, spanish honorifics for dames and gents, but seen in the Philippines more as honorifics for the wealthy. And most likely, the suddenly rich Don or Dona will plan to holiday in the USA, the default “dream destination” for average Filipinos.
