What is Fifes policy on transporting children to school?

0

Primary pupils living more than 1 mile and secondary pupils living more than 2 miles from their local, catchment school (as measured by the shortest reasonable walking route) and attending that school will be eligible for transport to school free of charge. When you choose to send your child to a school other than the designated catchment school, you must meet the full cost of transport yourself. Fife Council may make available a place on transport which is already running, provided there is no additional cost to the Council. Pupils who have special educational needs will be provided with free transport to school where this is assessed as being appropriate. A parent leaflet giving further information is available in your school and in the Local Office. A copy can be obtained by contacting the Head of Education.
