What is Feng Shui and how do you pronounce it?
Feng Shui is translated as the Wind and The Water. It symbolizes balance of heaven energy and earth energy. It is the act of affecting change to the “Chi” of a place. In so doing the chi of the individual is affected. The goal of Feng Shui is to harmonize the chi of a place to increase or balance the good chi (Sheng Chi) of the individual. It is an art and a science of placement that started in Tibet 4,000 years ago. It traveled through India and developed into Vastu. Then it evolved in China into the different schools of Feng Shui: The Form School which focuses on the Land forms, The Compass School which focuses on the Directions and personal Astrology, and the Tibetan Black Hat Sect which focuses on placement according to the “Mouth of Chi”, using the map known as the BaGua. Feng Shui is pronounced “FUNG SHWAY”, in the Western world, it has various other pronunciations in China.
