FEE-HELP is an interest-free loan facility for eligible students who are enrolled in fee-paying undergraduate or postgraduate coursework. It is similar to the deferred payment arrangements available under the HECS-HELP scheme. It is available to both commencing and continuing students. The Commonwealth pays the amount of the loan directly to your tertiary institution. You then repay your loan through the taxation system once your income reaches the minimum threshold for compulsory repayment. To be eligible for FEE-HELP you have to be an Australian citizen. You can borrow up to the limit of the tuition fee being charged by your institution however FEE-HELP is capped at $81,600 for all courses except medicine and dentistry, for which the limit is $102,000 (indexed annually) for the life of the loan.
