Year 2000 criteria at FedEx incorporates four date-related compliance guidelines. These are: General Integrity: No value or date should cause interruptions in normal operations, or cause erroneous processing of data. This guideline applies equally to leap years. Date Integrity: All manipulations of calendar-related data (dates, duration, days of the week, etc.) should produce desired results for all valid date values within the application design. Explicit Century: Date elements that exist in interfaces, in any type of data storage, and in data displays must include the specification of the century when such specification is needed for functional clarity or business requirements. For non-standard date formats, adequate information should be available to logically derive a date consistent with the ISO 8601 Date Format Standard.
