FE stands for Fire Emblem, a series of strategy games that was originally released in Japan. FE6 was the first game boy released game, but it was only released in Japan. The seventh in the series was the first FE game to be released within the United States (or internationally, for that matter). Fire Emblem 8, The Sacred Stones, was also released soon thereafter. Both are for the Game Boy Advance. FE9, however, is for the Nintendo GameCube (GCN).
