What is FDM / FDA / FOQA?
FDM (Flight Data Monitoring), FDA (Flight Data Analysis) and FOQA (Flight Operations Quality Assurance) are one and the same. FDM and FOQA are generic terms commonly used in the United States. FDA, however, is the generic international term. * FDA is the collection, processing and analysis of objective flight data to gather valuable safety information, identify threats and reduce or eliminate safety risk. * As an integral part of an operator’s Safety Management System, FDM/FDA will allow an operator to provide continuous feedback to improve maintenance, operations, safety and training.
