What is Favorita Fruit Co. doing in the social sphere?
The non-profit organization Wong Foundation has coordinated the scientific, health care and educational programs of Favorita Fruit Co. for the last decade. Its funds provide a comprehensive support to a network of 34 public and private primary schools that educate more than 4,000 children of the rural areas of Ecuador. The Foundation has a rain forest reserve, and conducts programs aimed at the environmental education of children through structured visits guided by trained biologists. The goal is to incorporate the biodiversity and preservation culture in the school curriculum.
