It is a lung disease that affects the farmers that are exposed to (often for months/years) moldy hay. When a farmer handles moldy hay, (s)he breathes-in millions of tiny mold spores that breaks loose from the bales of moldy hay. Over time, some farmers develop an allergic reaction to hay mold -a condition commonly known as Farmer’s Lung Disease. Considering that allergic reactions can indeed have serious consequences for some individuals, Farmer’s Lung Disease has a potential to be a serious life threatening disease for certain individuals.
