What is Fairview First Aid Squad?
Fairview First Aid Squad is an all-volunteer Basic Life Support (BLS) provider. Fairview provides ambulance transport for people with all sorts of medical conditions (e.g., car accident, heart attack, trouble breathing, broken arm, etc.). The Squad also provides motor vehicle extrication (using such equipment as the “jaws of life”). Fairview First Aid is one of five BLS squads in Middletown Township (the other squads are the Middletown Township First Aid & Rescue Squad, Port Monmouth First Aid Squad, Leonardo First Aid & Rescue Squad, and Lincroft First Aid & Rescue Squad). What happens when you dial 9-1-1? When you dial 9-1-1, the call is answered by dispatchers from the Middletown Township Police Department. Based on their questions, they will determine the appropriate response by emergency services (police, fire, EMS, etc).
