Exview is an amazing technology invented by Sony Corporation. As the demand for smaller cameras grows, the lens aperture is decreased allowing a lot less light to travel to the image sensor in the camera (aka the CCD). Exview which was originally intended for camcorders is a method of fabricating micro lenses on the chip, one lens for every pixel. These micro lenses focus the available light on to an optimised CCD matrix resulting in a much higher light sensitivity. Sony Exview fitted cameras then have the ability to work at much lower light levels and provide a fantastic image in less than perfect filming conditions.
