What is expected of FYE 101 instructors?
• All instructors, and prospective instructors, must complete a sequence of workshops focused on first-year teaching and learning prior to teaching in the FYE Program. • All instructors commit to participate in FYE Faculty Dialogue Days sharing ideas, resources and best practices each academic semester. Submit, prior to the fall semester, a written syllabus for review and approval by the FYE Coordinator. • Use the approved FYE textbook. • Complete student opinion surveys of your instruction at the end of the course, using the approved FYE 101 student evaluation form. • Adhere to teaching components outlined in the master course syllabus, focusing on topics that include: the value of a liberal education, the importance of academic integrity, and the value of diversity. • Assign regular and substantive reading and writing assignments. • Administer the College Student Inventory (CSI) to all students. • Maintain challenging and fair academic standards appropriate for a letter-graded academ
