What is expected in AVID?
AVID – Advancement Via Individual Determination Granger High School Mrs. Biggar 2010-2011 The Beginning of Your College Career! AVID is designed to prepare you for the rigor of a college education. We’ll be learning skills for learning, organizing, questioning, reflecting and critical thinking as we find out more about college expectations and norms. This class will involve much reading, writing, inquiry and collaboration. You will have opportunities to improve your critical thinking and analysis skills. However, it is YOUR JOB TO ACTIVELY LEARN. Please remember that intelligent, educated people have every advantage in our world. Investing in you is worthwhile to me – it affects your future and mine! Commitment: As an AVID student, you will sign a contract that outlines your commitment to a college pathway.
