What is expected during a disaster response?
You can expect to issue clothing and food, emergency housing assistance; manage a shelter; assess damage; make medical referrals and treat the victims of the disaster with compassion, dignity and respect. You will not be performing hazardous duties such as those of the emergency service agencies The D.A.R.T. members will be part of the disaster recovery as soon as it can safely commence. National disaster assignments are usually for three weeks. Local disaster assignments vary considerably from several hours to days or weeks.
