What is Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP)?
The EFMP is a mandatory enrollment program for active duty personnel who have a family member(s) with special needs. Although some programs may have a different name, each uniformed service branch—Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard—has an Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP). Enrolling in this program will help to ensure that military families are located in geographical areas where their family members’ needs can be met.
