Ewing’s sarcoma is a type of cancer that can start in either the bone or in nonbony, or soft, tissues. Ewing’s sarcoma is part of the Ewing’s family of tumors (EFT).Tumors in the soft tissue are called extraosseous. Another member of the EFT family is the peripheral primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET). These cancers are closely related. Doctors believe they come from the same type of cells and they are treated in a similar way.
