What is eWaste?

0

Ewaste is a term that refers to electronic waste. Electronics Waste is prohibited from normal trash by California law because it contains toxic metals such as lead. Some items that contain eWaste include: • fluorescent bulbs, including CFLs (compact fluorescents). • Batteries (all kinds) • Electronic devices: TVs, computer monitors, PDAs, cell phones, etc. • Mercury-Containing Items: thermostats & thermometers. Ewaste should be processed by a state certified recycler such as those listed on our recycle page.
