What is Every Disabled Child Matters?
Every Disabled Child Matters (EDCM) is a campaign to make sure that you have equal rights and opportunities if you have a disability. As part of the campaign, EDCM wants you and your family to have access to the services and support you need in order to lead a happy life. Who’s behind EDCM? EDCM is run by four organisations: • Contact a Family – offers support, advice and information for families with disabled children • Council for Disabled Children – works to influence national policy that affects disabled children and children with special educational needs (SEN) • Mencap – provides support for parents, carers and people with learning disabilities • Special Educational Consortium – promotes the interests of children and young people with special educational needs (SEN) and disabilities.
