Euphemism is when you replace the name or term of somthing for something less offencive (ex. saying “I need to go to the bathroom” insted of saying “I need to poop”. Saying “passed away” instead of “died”). Flat characters (also called “static”) are two-dimensional in that they are relatively uncomplicated and do not change throughout the course of a work. A round character is a major character in a work of fiction who encounters conflict and is changed by it (aka major character, main character, dynamic characters). An oxymoron is a combination of contradictory or incongruous words (like cruel kindness, or jumbo shrimp). Figurative language is writing or speaking that purposefully departs from the literal meanings of words to achieve a particularly vivid, expressive, and/or imaginative image.
