Hi Jitendra ETL – Extract Transform and Load – In this method data is extracted from various systems, transformed using the ETL tool and once the data has been manipulated into the required format loaded into a data-warehouse. So the bulk of the processing is done by the ETL tool. ELT – Extract Load and Transform – In this method data in extracted and Loaded by the ETL tool, and then Transformed by the rdbms (Typically). This means that the databases hardware and software and performing the bulk of the processing. Choosing the right method is quite subjective, and people tend to sick to what they know! However, if the amount of data is quite large and the amount of transformation quite complex, you want to use the resource with the most power i.e. The most powerful hardware and the most powerful software.
