What is EOC (End of Chapter Write UP)?
This online environment could create some bad habits. Because so much of our work is on the computer some people may be tempted to not write out how they think through and solve a problem with algebra. This is a bad practice for several reasons. As we get into harder problems it will become extremely difficult to solve a problems unless you can work it one step at a time. Also as you move onto higher level classes you will be expected to show how you solved a problem. Lastly, your future job will have “problems” of some kind for you to solve; your boss will expect that you can communicate how you solved the problems – this means showing your steps. I give the EOC assignments to prompt this skill. “How do I do them?” Before you reach the end of a chapter go to the web site to get the problems and due date of the EOC for your particular chapter and to print out the EOC worksheet. Solve each problem, show your steps and show the answer. The goal here is to show me that you know how to thi
