What is environmentally friendly packaging?
Environmentally friendly packaging is designed around materials that are sustainable, reusable, recyclable or biodegradable. The main goal is to reduce the amount of waste that reaches the ecosystem. Biodegradable materials are designed to be thrown away, but will quickly revert to their natural components causing little, if no negative effect to the environment. Reusable materials offer the least impact if they are effectively reused and maintained. Recycling is another great way to lower the impact of packaging supplies on the environment, but materials slowly degrade in quality the more they are recycled.
