What is Enthalpy and Enthalpy control?
In simplicity, enthalpy is a fancy name for heat retention in a gas. Enthalpy control is the ability to calculate, compare and extract this heat from the air or gas that contains the highest amount of this heat. LANce-3000 calculates how much energy it will take to bring the inside air to the desired temperature and humidity and then calculates the same for the outside air. If the outside air will take less energy to condition, LANce-3000 will begin taking in and conditioning outside air. For example, LANce-3000 may calculate that it takes less energy to cool the warm, dry air from outside, than cool the more humid inside air. The end result is the same temperature and humidity, but at a lower energy cost. Enthalpy has been in use for years on large commercial and institutional installations.
