What is Enterprise Capability Development & Maturity?

1

Enterprise Capability Development & Maturity is the process of creating and sustaining key value stream process areas within an organization. These processes are based on several Capability Maturity Models (CMM), which have been around for over 20 years. These models represent process improvement frameworks governed by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI); a federally funded research organization chartered by the U.S. Congress and supported by the Department of Defense (DoD) and Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. Capability maturity models focus on developing and improving a myriad of related disciplines such as systems engineering, Integrated Product and Process Development (IPPD), project management, software acquisition, etc.
