What is Enhanced Text Messaging?
Enhanced Text Messaging uses the Enhanced Messaging Service (EMS) to add upgraded features to regular text messages. With an enhanced text messaging capable phone you can enjoy the following additional features: • Extended Message Length: An enhanced text messaging capable phone will allow you to compose an Enhanced Text message over 1000 characters long. • Text Formatting: Some enhanced text messaging capable phone will allow you to apply text formatting to the message text such as Bold, Italics, and Underline in your Enhanced Text Message. • International Characters: An enhanced text messaging capable phone will allow you to use foreign language characters such as ‘ü’, ‘ñ’, and ‘é’ in your Enhanced Text Message. • Embedded Media Objects: Most enhanced text messaging capable phones include a menu of sounds, graphics, and animated icons that you can insert into the body of your Enhanced Text Message.
