From 1.1.2006, where a person not governed by the Workmens Compensation Act dies while in service after rendering not less than seven years continuous service, the rate of family pension shall be equal to 50% of last pay drawn from the date of death of deceased Government Servant for a period of ten years. In the event of death of Government Servant after retirement the enhanced family pension shall be payable for a period of seven years or for a period upto the date the deceased would have attained the age of 67 years, whichever is earlier. In no case the amount of family pension exceed the pension authorised on retirement from Government service.
