ENGDAT (Engineering Data, recommendation of the Verband der Automobilindustrie (VDA) Nr. 4951) is a norm for the exchange of CAD/CAM data groups including additional information (sender, drawing number, format, coding etc.). The additional information enable a better control and organisation of the CAD/CAM data exchange. An ENGDAT data exchange consists of the transmission of the corollary message and up to 999 CAD/CAM files.
