What is Endoscopic/Laparascopic Surgery ?
Following the developments in electronic field, in last two decades, it was feasible to introduce a telescope inside the abdominal or chest cavity through a button hole over the wall as a replacement of the incision. By connecting telescope with a camera and a monitor, procedure of surgery is completed. Thus the incision of large size a replaced by two or three buttonholes over the covering wall . Thus the three complications of incisions namely pain, infection and herniation are avoided and because of this, duration of hospitalization and necessity of prolonged stay at home away from work is reduced to minimum.
