What is end voltage? What is the difference between a high and low end voltage?
End voltage is the voltage of the cell (or battery) at the end of the duty cycle. End voltage is usually selected based on the duration of the discharge and the minimum system voltage the equipment can tolerate. For long duration discharges (12+ hours), it is recommended that a high end voltage be used (1.90+ volts per cell). For short duration discharges (< 90 min.) such as UPS systems, a low end voltage is used (e.g. 1.67 volts per cell). For normal duration discharges (90 min to 12 hr), an average end voltage (e.g. 1.75 volts per cell) should be used.
