What is encrusting?
Used to decorate jewelry, encrusting is a process that has been practiced for centuries. As it applies to our customized mens rings, the onyx to be decorated will have grooves made in the desired design. These grooves are wider at the bottom and narrower near the surface, like an inverted “V.” 24 karat gold, which is softer than alloyed gold and very malleable, is then pressed into the grooved design and smoothed using special tools.
