What is Emerys Measure A parcel tax?

0

Emery Unified School District (Alameda County) placed Measure A on the June 2007 ballot. Measure A passed with 86.9% of the vote. Measure A taxes improved parcels at $0.16 per square foot, but does not tax unimproved parcels. An exemption is provided for parcel owners 65 years or older who are using the parcel as their principal place of residence. It exempts parcels that are otherwise exempt from tax under the constitution of the State of California. Measure A tax is collected in the same manner as ad valorem taxes.
