What is emergency Medicaid assistance?
Emergency Medicaid assistance is the only type of aid available to illegal aliens. This Medicaid coverage is limited to the treatment of emergency medical conditions (including labor and delivery). To receive this benefit, a patient must meet all Medicaid requirements for need. A doctor also must certify that the medical condition would endanger the patient’s life or permanently damage the patient’s health without immediate treatment.
