What is Emerald Ash Borer? Why can I bring firewood from my home?
Emerald Ash Borer is an ash tree-killing insect that has affected ash trees in various counties throughout Ohio, Michigan, and other parts of the Midwest. As a result of the spread of this insect, several counties have been placed under quarantine and firewood cannot be transported from those counties. In an effort to reduce the chances of the Emerald Ash Borer affecting our trees, Mohican State Park asks that you to purchase your firewood locally, be it in Ashland County or other bordering counties.
