What is Emerald Ash Borer? Can I move firewood that I don’t use during my camping trip?
Emerald Ash Borer is an ash tree-killing insect that has affected ash trees in various counties throughout Ohio, Michigan, and other part of the Midwest. As a result of the spread of this insect, several counties have been placed under quarantine and firewood cannot be transported from those counties. Findley State Park is a quarantined county. In an effort to reduce the spread of Emerald Ash Borer, we ask that you to NOT move any firewood from the county after your stay. Please go to http://www.ohioagriculture.gov/eab/ for more information on Emerald Ash Borer and a map of the quarantined counties. Are there any gates that close at a certain time? There are no gates that close the campground after a certain time. The area does become restricted, so visitors must leave the area at 10:00 p.m. and day use park visitors must leave by 11:00 p.m. If you are a registered camper, you may enter and exit the park at anytime.
