What is Email Forwarding?
Email Forwarding is when email is forwarded to another email address outside of your domain. You can also think of this as “call forwarding”. For example: outside@yourdomain.com -> outsideaccount@yahoo.com You may also have a forward send an email to multiple email accounts. For example: group@yourdomain.com -> sam@telus.net, tim@telus.net, john@hotmail.com 65.
Mail forwarding is a mechanism of automatically forwarding your email to a different email address. Suppose you are running a small web based business and receive various email at different email address like sale@yourdomain.com, marketing@yourdomain.com, account@yourdomain.com, business@yourdomain.com. If mail forwarding is enabled and properly set then system can automatically forward mails from all four accounts to a single account. You need not have to login into all four accounts to check your emails which save time and energy.
The idea behind “Email Forwarding” is simple. You have a permanent email address (your @321.net email address) which is what you use and give out to friends, family, and so on, and you have a destination email address which is usually the one you normally use at home, which you get when you sign up for internet access (through a service provider). You simply configure your @321.net email address to forward messages to this destination email address and that’s all! On your end, continue to access your email the same way you always have, no need to reconfigure your email program, use another program, or anything else. It’s a snap to configure, and no other changes necessary. Don’t limit your email to being “chained” to a local service provider; if you have to move, or for whatever reason you need to change providers (which then means your email destination might have to change) you don’t have to worry about telling everyone that you’re changing your email address, or worry about messages
