A. Email fax is a subscription-based service that allows you to send and receive faxed documents through your email. You don’t need a fax machine, but you do need an Internet connection. To send a fax, just attach the document to your email, input the fax number according to your service’s specifications, and click “Send.” If your documents are on paper, you have to scan them and save them on your computer. Faxes sent to you are received as emails with document attachments. Your email fax service will assign you a fax phone number so that other parties can fax you documents. Most providers allow you to choose between a local or a toll-free number.
