What is electrostatic media?
Electrostatic media is media fibers that can be statically charged. This special type of media fiber is frequently made of plastic fibers, these strands produce a static charge as friction is generated by air passing over and through the fibers. The airborne particles are caught by the media fibers that trap and magnetically or statically attract the particles to the filter media. Electrostatic media is usually loosely woven giving less resistance to the air flow but is still effective at trapping the smallest of particles. Electrostatic media filters must be changed or cleaned regularly to maintain their ability to clean and purify the air.
