What is Electronegativity as it relates to polar and nonpolar molecules?

0

Basically electronegativity means atom’s ability to attract electrons in a covalent bond. In polar molecules some atoms attract significantly more electrons than the others. One part of the molecule is negatively charged (because of higher electron density) and other part is positively charged. If the difference in electronegativity between atoms in a molecule is small, the molecule is nonpolar.
