What is Electroluminescent Cable?
The design and construction of EL cable is similar to a coaxial cable. The outside electrode is composed of two thin copper wires twisted in a spiral configuration around a semi-conductive phosphor. The actual light is emitted due to the properties of the semi-conductive phosphor between the copper-wire electrodes. The cable is cool to the touch and never gets hot. We sell the EL cable in pre-packaged kits with the appropriate inverter drivers, or as bulk cable – by the foot. EL cable glows very evenly and looks much like neon.
