What is EHR Software ?
EHR stands for “electronic health record” which is an individual patient’s digital medical record. Electronic health record systems utilize computers to perform the storage and retrieval of individual records in a single computer or over the world wide web or a local area network. An EHR may be made up of digital medical records aggregated from many computers at many different locations. Included in the record are patient demographics, medical history, allergy lists medication lists, immunization status, laboratory test results, radiology images, billing information and legal directives. EHR systems help in reducing medical errors. They are believed to increase physician efficiency and reduce medical care costs. Also they help with quality assurance and standardization of care.
