What is EEC memory and do I need it for my mac?
EEC memory uses error correction control and is only used on Xserve G5 and Quad G5’s. The EEC feature isn’t supported on any other mac models. EEC RAM is almost exclusively seen in computers performing server tasks and scientific computing calculations. In these situations, ensuring correct and continued operation is often considered more important than minimizing cost.
