What is eating my camellia leaves?
by dstone 4/13/2006 8:20:45 PM My grandmother planted camellias at her home (built in 1937 on a hill surrounded by 19 acres in East Texas) in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. She passed away in 1983 and the old homeplace was sold outside the family. Last year my wife and I had the chance to purchase my grandparents old homeplace. Much to my surprise some the camellias (nine bushes) were still living but something has been eating the leaves. The holes are in the middle of the leaf (not from the edge of the leaf inward) and they are long and skinny holes. Some of them are cresent shaped like a waxing moon in the early stages. Thanks for any help and suggestions. I would like to know what is eating the leaves and what treatment do I use to get rid of the pest.
